For those that are new to Prophets and Prophecies this message is for you. The biggest concerns I hear from people are that a Prophet/Prophecy is 1) not detailed enough, 2) is taking too long to come to pass (it’s been weeks/months/years), 3) is not always accurate. Please take a look at a video I posted on Identifying False Prophets by Wanda Alger below.

Wanda points out that Accuracy, is not the main way to identify false prophets. The Slave girl in the bible that followed Paul around was demon possessed but was giving out accurate predictions / prophesying true words.

Acts 16:18 And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour.

The Bible teaches in Matthew that even followers of satan can prophesy accurately, drive out demons, and perform miracles.

Matthew 7:22–23 — Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Here’s part of Wanda’s explanation:

“We love talking about false prophets don’t we and i’ve been amazed to see the comments that are thrown out you know even on my youtube channel of people calling a false prophet out just because they got a prophecy wrong well i’m going to just share a few passages from old testament and new testament it’s going to show that a false prophet according to scripture is known by the state of their heart and the source of their intel much more than the accuracy of their prophecies. The slave girl she was motivated by a demonic spirit but she gave a true prophecy, balaam in the old testament was a false prophet but he spoke some true words. so a false prophet or teacher is not going to be known just by the accuracy of what they prophesy or teach, it has to do with the state of their heart.”

Prophecies are not meant to be so detailed that you listen to one prophet and you’re done. God on purpose takes a prophecy and splits it up like a Puzzle among many prophets, so that people have to listen to all the prophets, and read the Word (Bible), in order to put the pieces of the puzzle back together.

1 Corinthians 13:9 NIV — For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

1 Corinthians 13:9 NLT — Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture!

Some prophecies take a very long time (years/decades) to come to pass.

For example, Noah was building the ark for over 50 years and telling everyone a flood was coming, but no one believed.

Another example is Kim Klement who prophesied in 2014 that in the Fall many will Fall. Most people thought that was regarding the year 2021, but then when it didn’t happen, realized it was talking about this year (2022).

Habakkuk 2:3 — For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Behold, I the Lord God, am doing a new thing. Do you not see it? In this Season, you must have eyes to see and ears to hear, says the Lord, what the Spirit has to say, because, imposters shall arise — and they shall recite the Word — and they have been groomed to be the Trojan Horse, says the Lord — they have been groomed to come in looking like a gift. It is a curse says the Lord, it is a curse. Pray for discernment My children, in this Season, because, a vessel that may look perfect on the outside, is filled with darkness on the inside. A true false prophet is a prophet that leads you away from the faith. Most of the time interpretations are not as correct as we thought they would be, because they are given in part… It’s wrong to speak against the prophets… touch not my anointed ones, do my prophets no harm… Prophecy comes in parts, and sometimes prophecy comes with condition…. conditional vision.. Means you pray against it…. If it’s conditional, it means it can be shifted because of prayer, because of intercession.

Message to Prophets – Tomi Arayomi 1/27/21

Here is a verse that Tomi Arayomi mentioned. Abraham prophecy — 400 vs 430 years — God prophesied to Abraham that for 400 years his descendants will be slaves. But in reality they ended up being slaves for 430 years. Which was 30 years longer than the prophesy. Sometimes the prophecy takes longer to come true than it’s supposed to…

Genesis 15:13–14 (NIV) Then the Lord said to him, “Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there. But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions.

Acts 7:6 (NIV) God spoke to him in this way: ‘For four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated.

Exodus 12:40–41 (NIV) Now the length of time the Israelite people lived in Egypt[a] was 430 years. At the end of the 430 years, to the very day, all the Lord’s divisions left Egypt.

Acts 13:20 (NIV) All this took about 450 years. “After this, God gave them judges until the time of Samuel the prophet.

Galatians 3:17 (NIV) What I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 years later, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus do away with the promise

Here is another verse that Tomi Arayomi mentioned. Moses — an 11 day journey took 40 years. Sometimes the actions of people can change the length of the prophecy…

Deuteronomy 1:2–3 It is eleven days’ journey from Horeb by the way of Mount Seir to Kadesh-barnea. In the fortieth year, on the first day of the eleventh month, Moses spoke to the children of Israel, according to all that the LORD had commanded him to give to them,
