Red Church | The 4 Different Types of Prophetic Gifts!
Joseph Z
Streamed live on May 11, 2025 Joseph Z Podcast
In Red Church today, Joseph Z breaks down the types of prophecy: Roeh, Nabi, Chazah, and Chozeh, explaining how revelation must be interpreted and applied with maturity in God’s word. Joseph highlights the various types of prophecy: the Roeh, who are visionaries, possess a gift for leadership and mobilization. The Nabi serves as a herald, akin to a trumpet that proclaims, while Chazah means to gaze. Chozeh, on the other hand, refers to peering into the distance or the future. He clarifies that there are major and minor aspects to these prophecies, indicating that one can operate within different dimensions of prophetic insight. He outlines the steps to achieving prophetic clarity: revelation, interpretation, and application.
15:12 – did you know in the Old Testament there was these two prophets. one was named Ezekiel and one was named Jeremiah. did you know that each of them had a prophetic word about a specific king – King Zedekiah. King Zedekiah was in this position, where Babylon was about to invade. Babylon was coming. and Ezekiel stands up and says a prophetic word: King Zedekiah will not see Babylon. then Jeremiah, the prophet, comes along and prophesies: he will live out his days and die, within Babylon.
Ezekiel 12:13 – I will also spread My net over him, and he shall be caught in My snare. I will bring him to Babylon, to the land of the Chaldeans; yet he shall not see it, though he shall die there.
Jeremiah 34:3 – You will not escape from his grasp but will surely be captured and given into his hands. You will see the king of Babylon with your own eyes, and he will speak with you face to face. And you will go to Babylon.
16:37 – it sounds like there’s a conflict, doesn’t it? he’ll not see Babylon. the other one says he’s going to die. And it sounds like 2020.
16:56 – In 2 Kings, chapter 25 talks about that Zedekiah was indeed captured by the Babylonians, and the first thing they did is they brought him before the king that captured him, and they cut his eyes out. and from there, they took him captive to Babylon, where he lived out the rest of his life. so was one right and one wrong? NO. The answer is both were right. It was from the lens, and perception, and revelatory understanding, that they were working in.
2 Kings 25:7 – Then they killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, put out the eyes of Zedekiah, bound him with bronze fetters, and took him to Babylon.
Jeremiah 52:11 – He also put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in bronze fetters, took him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.
17:58 – prophecy is always, always, always, in the New Testament, to be redemptive. even the book of revelation – thunderbolts and lightning – very, very frightening. but at the end, at the end, redemption comes. at the end.

NotebookLM AI Summary:
This extended summary outlines the key concepts from Joseph Z’s teaching on the “Red Church,” the four distinct categories of prophetic gifting, the importance of prophetic maturity, and his vision for the future of the United States.
The “Red Church” and the Power of the Cross
The “Red Church” refers to a perspective where believers operate in the completeness of the gospel made available through the blood of Jesus. It emphasizes that every promise of God is available to the believer and that the church must remain cross-centric, focusing on the finished work of Jesus rather than denominational divisions. Joseph Z suggests that the enemy tries to pervert the most effective gifts to create contention within the body of Christ.
The Four Different Types of Prophetic Gifts
Joseph Z identifies four specific ways prophecy flows, applicable to both prophets and every believer:
- Rowey (The Visionary/Mobilizer): This is a visionary gift characterized by an intuitive “knowing”. It is often seen in leaders and CEOs who know how to mobilize people and take organizations where they need to go.
- Na’vi (The Herald/Bubbling): This describes an instantaneous, “bubbling up” of a message. It often manifests as extemporaneous preaching or a “now word” from God that overrides previously prepared material.
- Chesa (The Gazer/Seer): This gift involves “gazing” or peering into the spiritual realm to receive a word of knowledge. While it can involve seeing written words or impressions over people, Joseph Z cautions against “getting weird” with it, suggesting practitioners focus on results rather than the mystical act itself.
- Chose (The Futuristic/Trance): This is a high-level gift that cannot be self-activated. It involves being “snapped away” or entering a trance to see futuristic revelations, similar to the experiences of Daniel or John the Revelator.
Prophetic Maturity: Revelation, Interpretation, and Application
A central theme of the teaching is that revelation requires interpretation before it reaches application. Joseph Z argues that many prophetic conflicts, such as those seen in 2020, arise because people skip the interpretation phase. He uses the example of prophets Ezekiel and Jeremiah—who gave seemingly contradictory words about King Zedekiah—to show that both can be correct from their specific revelatory lens if interpreted properly.
Key Principles for Maturity:
- Biblical Foundation: All gifts must be anchored in the Word of God; experiences are not “truth,” but the Word is.
- Humility and Forgiveness: Maturity involves being “unoffendable” and walking in love toward others, as bitterness can stall spiritual development.
- New Testament Focus: Prophecy in the New Testament should be redemptive rather than strictly judgmental.
Spiritual Discernment and Warfare
Joseph Z encourages believers to ignore the “drama” of demonic manifestations, noting that spiritual entities often feed on attention. He warns against the “conspiracy demon,” noting that obsessing over conspiracies distracts faith from its true purpose: obtaining miracles. Instead, believers should “strike the ground” through persistent prayer and preaching the gospel to influence the culture.
The Prophetic Timeline for America (2024–2028)
Based on various prophetic experiences at locations like Pikes Peak and the site of Noah’s Ark, Joseph Z outlines a period of “redemptive instability” for the United States. He provides a specific timeline for the coming years:
- 2024–2025: A “Year of Fire”.
- 2026: A year of “Pickup Sticks” (reordering).
- 2027: A “Year of Revival”.
- 2028: A “New Beginning” leading to a “New America”.
He concludes by urging the body of Christ to function as a global superpower by leaning into the “storm” with the peace of God and the power of the gospel to bring about reformation.
