A (not “THE”) great and terrible day is coming. but it is not what My people are thinking it is or expect. It isn’t from Me. Prophecy by Troy Black on 4/22/26. See my summary, partial transcript, ai summary, and video link below:
My Summary:
A (not “THE”) great and terrible day is coming. but it is not what My people are thinking it is. It’s not what they expect. Many have unfortunately taken that word, the phrase they heard, and run with it, assigning it a meaning that I never have, that I never meant. But I will help you to clarify my voice, versus the voice of another, if you will let me. It’s imperative that my people recognize the spirit of fear when they see it moving forward. Many are unwilling to acknowledge the difference between My Spirit, and the spirit of the world, which leads you into anxiety and fear; not peace. It isn’t from Me. In most cases, prophetic words like this one are not from Me. I speak life and truth, not fear, over My people. Anyone who is telling you, you need to be afraid or to act in fear. And almost anytime they put a timeline of pressure upon you, run away. It’s not helping you or your life. It’s only making it worse.

What God Told Me about the “Great and Terrible Day”
Troy Black
Streamed live 4/22/26
17:49 – I heard, “A” great and terrible day is coming. So he didn’t say “THE” great and terrible day. He said, A great and terrible day is coming. But it is not what my people are thinking it is. So now the Lord is specifically talking about, he’s referring to I believe both Iran and Nigeria. both these nations. this this great and terrible time of reckoning. that’s what he’s referring to. but he’s also now responding to the phraseology of the great and terrible day. and some of the prophetic words that have been shared online recently. I know many people are talking about this.
18:45 – My plea to you would be not to judge it based on what you know, or what you’ve heard from others. but rather to take this word to the Lord in prayer, and say, Lord, is this right? Is this really from you? What we need in the charismatic church is a revival of the nearness, and the presence of God. because there are places where he’s not showing up. There’s places where we still have tongues, prophecies, healings, the gifts of the Spirit. We still have these things being shown, or demonstrated, or attempted, depending on who it is. But the Spirit of God is nowhere to be found. And that is should be troubling, right?
19:52 – Pray about it. But I heard: A (not “THE”) great and terrible day is coming. but it is not what my people are thinking it is. It’s not what they expect. Many have unfortunately taken that word, the phrase they heard, and run with it, assigning it a meaning that I never have, that I never meant. And then he said, but I will help you to clarify my voice, versus the voice of another, if you will let me.
20:23 – But, these are signs that something is not a true prophetic word, or that it’s been shared in the wrong spirit. It’s been shared in the wrong way. is if it creates nothing but fear in your life. or if it creates a feeling, an extreme feeling of I’m either missing out on something if I don’t listen to this, and do exactly what it says. or we’re all missing something like urgency, urgency, without hope. urgency combined with fear. it’s not the way that the Holy Spirit typically works…
21:52 – but I’ve got to do this thing now. It put a weight and a burden on me. and I’m afraid if I don’t do it, God’s not going to protect me. that is called the spirit of fear.
37:03 – You know, there been a 3 days of darkness prophetic word, that’s just bounced around the internet for the last several years, probably longer than that. I’ve seen it pop up here and there. The three days of darkness. I’m not ever saying that somebody can’t hear a word from God, that involves that phrase, the three days of darkness, right? Somebody could. and it could have a specific meaning to it. Sure. So, that’s not what I’m saying. But when it comes to the general overarching quote unquote prophetic word, of this this looming day out there of three days of darkness. where, I went and watched some videos after I heard a word about it last year, and I was like, what is this about? And in some of them they were talking about this idea of like everybody’s going to have to hide in their houses for 3 days. There’s going to be thick tangible darkness outside. and there’s going to be demons at your door pretending to be your loved ones, and mimicking their voices, and getting you to walk outside your house. As soon as I heard that, I knew absolutely, number one, theologically that’s completely inaccurate and false. Number two, absolutely that’s not the spirit of God. Why? because that is fear-based prophecy, and it’s actually exalting the power of Satan, and the power of demons, over the power of God. Listen, if three days of darkness actually happens, and there’s demons outside my door, do you know where I’m going to be? I’m going to be walking out that door and scattering them. I’m going to say, get away from my house, demons. You want to fight the Holy Spirit? He’s living inside of me. Come on. Like, I would love to see you try to fight him right now. Not me. I can’t fight a demon, but the Holy Spirit, absolutely. they have to submit to the authority of Jesus Christ. So, I’m not going to live in fear. If there’s a prophetic word that goes out, and yes, there was some sort of like power outage for three days across the nation, or something like that. or there was like some sort of weird eclipse. or I don’t know, something to where there’s like a physical manifestation of something like that. That’s fine. But I’m not going to live my life afraid of that happening.
46:32 – Do not be terrified. Do not be discouraged. So, something that brings terror into my heart is not from the Lord. Something that causes me to walk in fear is not from the Lord.
53:47 – This is what I heard April 22nd. This is a response to some of the words that have been shared recently. I’m not going to call people out by name. I don’t need to do that. I don’t know everybody who the Lord is speaking about. He gave me one name. I don’t need to say it. The Lord said just share the rest of it. This is what I heard this this today. He said, I want you to respond to this. It’s imperative that my people recognize the spirit of fear when they see it moving forward. He’s talking about as we’re moving forward. We need to recognize the spirit of fear when we see it, as we move forward. And he said, Many are unwilling to acknowledge the difference between My Spirit, and the spirit of the world, which leads you into anxiety and fear; not peace. I want you to respond to the recent, quote unquote, great and terrible day of the Lord prophetic timing, that has been released. And then I heard this phrase. y’all take it to the Lord in prayer. Take it with a grain of salt. Give me some grace if I need it, whatever. But I heard, it isn’t from Me. In most cases, prophetic words like this one are not from Me. And then I heard, I speak life and truth, not fear, over My people. And then I heard, anyone who is telling you, you need to be afraid or to act in fear. And almost anytime they put a timeline of pressure upon you, run away. He said, It’s not helping you or your life. It’s only making it worse.
NotebookLM AI Summary:
The provided source, a transcript of a video by Troy Black, focuses on spiritual encouragement, biblical interpretation of the “great and terrible day of the Lord,” and specific prophetic words regarding international conflicts. Furthermore, the speaker explicitly warns against prophetic words that impose a “timeline of pressure” or specific dates, noting that such predictions are often not from God.
Below is a comprehensive summary of the prophecies and predictions contained in the source:
Prophetic Words Regarding International Conflicts
On April 17th, the speaker reported receiving a word concerning current events and specific nations:
- Iran and Nigeria: Both nations are described as experiencing a “time of conflict” and a “great upsetting” intended to eventually make things right.
- Reckoning and Freedom: A “great and terrible time of reckoning” is coming to set oppressed people free. The speaker mentions a “sudden release of captives” and that a people group who have been taken advantage of will be liberated.
- Spread of the Gospel: In times of desperation and turmoil within these nations, the gospel will go forth to bring “true freedom”.
The “Great and Terrible Day” Prophecy
On April 22nd, the speaker shared a second word intended to correct recent popular prophecies:
- Nature of the Day: The Lord reportedly said, “A great and terrible day is coming but it is not what my people are thinking it is”.
- Correction of Fear: The speaker claims that many have misapplied this biblical phrase to create “urgency combined with fear”. He asserts that God speaks “life and truth, not fear” and that prophecies causing extreme anxiety or setting high-pressure timelines should be avoided.
- Three Days of Darkness: The speaker specifically addresses the “three days of darkness” prophecy circulating online, calling it theologically inaccurate and false. He argues it exalts the power of demons over the power of God and should not be a source of fear for believers.
Biblical Interpretations and Future Outlook
- Dual Fulfillment: The speaker suggests the “great and terrible day of the Lord” mentioned in Malachi and Joel had a partial fulfillment in 70 AD with the destruction of Jerusalem, but also has a parallel fulfillment at the end of the age.
- Signs of the End: While the second coming will be “like a thief in the night,” believers are encouraged to be “alert and sober,” recognizing the general “signs of the times” without falling into terror.
- The “Fig Tree”: The speaker identifies the “fig tree” in biblical prophecy as the nation of Israel and its old religious system, suggesting its “withering” occurred in 70 AD.
- Spiritual Readiness: Rather than physical preparation (like hiding behind locked doors), the speaker urges believers to focus on the Great Commission, “chasing after lost souls” with the gospel.
- Future Dates: The speaker mentions that a previous prophecy regarding 2025 failed to pass. He strongly advises that if anyone places a “timeline of pressure” upon people regarding prophetic events, they should “run away” because it is not from God.
In summary, the speaker’s message is one of spiritual confidence over fear, emphasizing that believers are “not destined for wrath” and should ignore fear-based prophecies in favor of walking by the Holy Spirit.

The 3 days of darkness prophecy seems very similar to Carolyn’s reverse rapture. Telling everyone to stay at home or be killed.

According to Troy, 3 days of darkness prophecy is not from God. it’s intended to create fear in believer’s hearts.

I couldn’t fit all the bible verses here, but it’s all in my WordPress post here:
https://propheticmoney.lovestoblog.com/carolyn-dennis-great-and-terrible-day-reverse-rapture-claims/
Biblical response:
Carolyn Dennis has twisted the scripture (Two in the field and then one is gone) and is using Matthew 24:40 to try to support her false claim of reverse rapture. This bible verse refers to the second coming of Christ, not reverse rapture. The bible verse clearly begins with: “at the coming of the Son of Man.” This verse refers to the wicked being taken in judgment (swept away like the flood), while the righteous are “left” to enter God’s kingdom. It describes the sudden, unexpected separation of people during the second coming of Jesus, emphasizing the need to be prepared.
Matthew 24:37-41 – 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
Biblical response: God’s people are always supernaturally protected during Judgment
Noah’s family alone survived the Flood; no collateral deaths among any other righteous
2 Peter 2:5 – And God did not spare the ancient world – except for Noah and the seven others in his family. Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment. So God protected Noah when he destroyed the world of ungodly people with a vast flood.
10 Plagues of Egypt – Israelites were shielded (in Goshen)
Exodus 8:22 – But on that day I will deal differently with the land of Goshen, where my people live; no swarms of flies will be there, so that you will know that I, the Lord, am in this land.
Exodus 10:23 – No one could see anyone else or move about for three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.
Exodus 12:13 – The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.
Exodus 9:26 – The only place it did not hail was the land of Goshen, where the Israelites were.
Great Exodus – Angel of Death passed at midnight, while Egyptians were sleeping. So there was no collateral damage. Why couldn’t the angel of death do the same this time around?
Exodus 12:30 – And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah: God agreed to Abraham’s plea, destroying only after confirming fewer than 10 righteous, rescuing Lot’s family first.
Genesis 18:32 – He (God) answered, For the sake of 10, I will not destroy it.
Genesis 19:12 – The two men said to Lot, Do you have anyone else here—sons-in-law, sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you? Get them out of here, 13 because we are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the Lord against its people is so great that he has sent us to destroy it.
Biblical response:
These are Great Tribulation events – mountains and islands moving. Carolyn Dennis has misinterpreted her own prophecies and applied incorrect timing to them. Her words represent the Tribulation period which is not coming any time soon.
Revelation 6:14 – And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
Revelation 16:20 – And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
Revelation 24:19-20 – The earth is violently broken, The earth is split open, The earth is shaken exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard
